STAPLE! 09

My wife and I went to STAPLE! up in Austin last weekend! I had an event to draw at that evening though; so we couldn’t stay long at all. We were there for about 2 hours and had to zip back to San Antonio so I could get ready for my gig.

In the short time that we were there I was able to meet…

SNL: Save The Funnies

This skit from Saturday Night Live gives me mixed feelings. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Newspapers are dying. Like a man sinking in quicksand the more they struggle the worse it gets.

Transcripts

Below each comic is a transcript… of the comic.

If you are having any trouble with a comic you can look in there. Sometimes I describe stuff in the panels. Like what a person is doing. Or what the situation is. And it always includes what the characters are saying. So if you are not sure about something just take a look in the transcripts.

One Month

One month ago I put up my first webcomic here at KiDD and GEEZER.

It’s been more challenging than I thought it might be. I can cartoon just fine, but I’ve never done anything sequential. It’s been quite the challenge to trying to keep the characters consistent.

And a gag a day? I knew that would be hard. I thought doing it 3 days a week would make it easy. It’s still challenging. If ever it becomes ‘easy’ then I need to bump up to 5 a week.

I’m hoping to print a few comic books and then a trade eventually. I’m also hoping to actually make money with it. Selling those books online and at conventions would certainly help in the money department. In the meantime I’ve got to grow an audience.

If you haven’t read the comic strip yet then go do it. Right now. I’ll wait. There are 14 strips up at the moment so you can easily start with the first one and read all the way through.

Hopefully you’ll have a chuckle or two. Please subscribe to the RSS feed and tell your friends about it as well. And please leave a comment.

Memorial Day

The comic strip will be up later today.

In the meantime I’d like to say thank you America for the many men and women who have given their lives for our freedoms.
