A Nickel’s Worth

Eek!Scott Nickel is the creator of the comic strip Eek! and Little Otto both of which can be found on GoComics. He also works for Jim Davis – Garfield.

So I would assume he knows comics. On his blog – A Nickel’s Worth – Scott has recently started “20 Questions”  where he interviews various “cartoonists from syndication, comic books, and gag cartooning in a fun 20-questions format”.

It’s been interesting so far and I can’t wait to see who else he gets to interview.

Check Out BizzaroBlog

Dan Piraro does a seriously silly comic. ‘Bizarro‘ is a syndicated newspaper comic so you might find it there, but I found it online and read it at BizarroBlog. It has nothing to do with Superman!

He always post some commentary with each comic. Within the commentary you can always find links to something, something… Well, it’s something that Dan thinks is worth linking to. It’s hard to explain.

The comic is well drawn, the humor is outrageous, and the secret items don’t make sense. He likes to include things like a slice of pie, an alien spaceship, or maybe a stick of dynamite in the comics. And they work just fine, I have never found the secret items too weird, distracting, or out of place. It just works.

Talk of the Town

This week we got linked, not once, but twice out in the interwebs! That’s right, people are talking about ‘Kidd and Geezer’. Mostly they say, “Who did what now? Why isn’t it in the newspaper?” To them I say, “Right. Wait, what?”

missions-unknown-300That’s enough about them, let’s move on to our mentions. Missions Unknown gave us a nice blurb and referenced a recent storyline about the Star Trek movie.

I met these guys at the Eckmans show I mentioned last week. I only spent a few seconds with them though as I was looking for artists. I did get a card from and checked out their site.

It’s three guys that love Sci-Fi and San Antonio; and they’re making a community on the internet. Sounds good to me. It’s in my feeder reader.

ZFComics

Last but not least. Zorphbert & Fred gave us the second mention. Two aliens. Disguised as dogs. Here to study human life. No, seriously.

Dawn went on vacation and asked for guest comics that revealed what her characters might look like without their disguises. So I did them as alien versions of Kidd and Geezer. Disguised as dogs. One of the characters wishes to he was disguised as a cat instead of a dog – so I drew him little cat like. This comic has been in my pull list ever since I found it.

If you found us via either one of these two sites, then thank you for checking us out, please let us know what you think of the comic. If you didn’t find us through one of these two sites, then thank you for checking us out, and please let us know what you think AND go check out these two sites as well!
